Asad hasnt been on for ages, I wonder why? Anyway he has been making some tutorials lately (tut, tut, tut) and I am annoyed how me made one for ed marlos estimation ace and called it something else! Then when another magician accused he (the one who was angry) became the bad guy. What the heck is this?

I don't recall any incident where someone who accused me of changing a name of the trick became the bad guy. I would never criticize someone for pointing something like that out, but it is possible that some of my viewers did (wrongly of course). There are a few reasons why I change the names of some of the tricks. 1.) Often times I just don't remember what the name of the trick. Most of these tricks I learned years ago and I have a hard time remembering what the name was or who it was by. 2.) I have tried in the past to do research on certain tricks but it can be very difficult. Almost all tricks are influenced by a previous trick or idea, so I feel it is unfair to credit just one individual for the trick. The Estimation Aces trick for example... I am quite sure the idea of weaving cards in between the aces and then estimating where to cut the deck is older than Marlo. I suspect Marlo was responsible for the routining and structure of the trick, but I feel it would be disingenuous to solely credit Marlo. I wish I had the knowledge to give the proper credits to everything, but unfortunately I do not and I would rather let those interested to do their own research instead of me risking giving incorrect or incomplete information about a sleight or trick. That being said I always welcome information about the history of move or trick and am always willing to add that information in the description box of the video as long as I feel it is accurate and conclusive. 3.) There are also SEO (search engine optimization) reasons to change the title of the video to something more memorable and flashy. Youtube/Google pay the most attention to the title when indexing a video. I hope that sufficiently answers your questions! - Asad ---------- Post added at 01:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:27 AM ---------- Quote:
