On Top of the Mountain

... I just couldn't resist.

la0o9 03-19-2011 11:12 PM

yep, it definitely gives the same effect, gratz

TheMisdirectingHand 03-19-2011 11:32 PM

This was one of the reasons I needed help with that one technique. You really helped. Thanks! :)

Kieran Oloughlin 03-20-2011 12:41 AM

not bad. I have my own variaiton aswell but I have to remove the jokers

la0o9 03-20-2011 02:00 AM

i figured out a way to do the routine like Mark did( both selected cards are replaced into the deck at the same time), but it's quite hard( not to mention impractical), i wonder what kinda control Mark could have used...

TheMisdirectingHand 03-20-2011 02:25 AM

I think I have an idea of it... but it looks impractical. Maybe after the earthquake warning passes, we'll exchange ideas!

Albert 03-20-2011 03:32 AM

Haha nice job David! As long you are able to get rid of the noise on the move, I think it will be better :D

We should all just make a variation on Mark's OTOTW for fun and see Mark's reactions to it.
:D

TheMisdirectingHand 03-20-2011 03:35 AM

Ahahaha, we all should! Also, I perform this live very often. I use my voice to misdirect them from the sound. It works out overall.

s13zeTheDay 03-20-2011 04:12 AM

nice. I have ideas too, but I'm still stumped on how in the end he gets the two selections to be facing different directions

Kieran Oloughlin 03-20-2011 07:03 AM

Yes I am also confused on how the cards on the top become face to face. I do have a theroy though. Is the flip done in the control or after?

LittleLead 03-20-2011 07:03 AM

I bust my knuckles everytime I do this trick lolzzz.

la0o9 03-20-2011 09:45 AM

my take on the concept says that the flip is done either before or while the control, but who knows what Mark have going on in his head. I definitely agree, when everyone decides to post their performances, i'll post mine at the same time.

Albert 03-20-2011 08:00 PM

Ahaha I came up with a rip-off version of Mark's OTOTW :D

I'm gonna practice it and post it up asap xD

GloriousMagic 03-21-2011 01:08 PM

My variation of OTOTW

:D I came up with my variation on OTOTW. Pity I didn't practice the sleights that much. I apologize for the flashes. Be sure to tell me what you think about it :sneaky:

la0o9 03-21-2011 01:37 PM

well, apart from the suspicious control... i think there's no flash at all... srly... couldn't figure out how you got into position so quickly( tho the description is a bit hard to understand... first you said that is it impromtu, and then you said you don't claim the performance to be...)

TheMisdirectingHand 03-21-2011 02:00 PM

He means that the performance can be impromptu without setup. In this case, it is not impromptu because the Jokers are used intentionally, thus the "setup"

la0o9 03-21-2011 02:37 PM

so 2 variations have came up... man i wish i could upload mine right now... but so many projects at once is so hard... looking forward to seeing Albert's, don't you? i bet it'll be something that looks so smooth you can't even stand straight on it.

Albert 03-21-2011 04:16 PM

Haha don't put your hopes up too much xD

I don't want to disappoint you, especially Mark ;)
