Initial Feedback
 

Hey Y'all. Ive only been around for a few days now, but here is my initial feedback.

1.) I don't like the featured video box at the top of the forum. Its just distracting to me. Maybe if you placed it at the bottom of the page that would be better

2.) The font for "Magicians the Gathering" at the top of the site could be better. It is a little too artsy at the moment. I would go for something more professional looking

3.) Theres too many tabs in the link bar. The "Quick Links" Tab seems to be repetitive and unnecessary.

4.) There are too many sub-forums. I think for an active forum it would be fine the way it is. But seeing as this site is in its youth maybe it would be better to just have a few sub forums that are more active. As the site continues to grow you could slowly add more sub-forums as you see fit.

I personally do not mind the featured video on the top at all. If it is on the bottom, it would not be as noticeable. The videos are enjoyable, it is like YouTube's advertisement banner on the top of the page, only less distracting and annoying.

The "Magicians: The Gathering" is a reference to the popular trading card game "Magic: The Gathering." The logo is just a replica of the game's logo.

You are right, but there maybe some people who like it the way it is. I think the only unnecessary tab is the "Quick Links".

The subforums are fine. It is there to keep everything in a mass-organized manner. It lets us know what is what. For example, the subforums organize EVERYTHING from card MAGIC to card FLOURISHES. It also allows us to express ourselves and let it be known by posting in the individual subsections. Using myself for instance, I dislike getting videos of flourshing mixed up with magic. This is a great solution. There are also sections where we just plainly mess around for the heck of it. I hope you understand, but I respect your opinion. This is just mine.

The featured video box is supposed to get as much attention as it has right now. Moving the box to any other place means that it will not get quite much attention anymore. You can hide it with the little arrow on the right.

Also, the more active the board gets, the more often the video will change which makes this box more attractive. All of the featured videos are well worth watching.

The logo is recognizable and we would like to keep it that way. It was somewhat supposed to look "artsy".

Also, David, this was not based on the Magic: The Gathering logo. Look up their logo. It does not look anything like ours.

Agreed. We already planned on changing things around in the menu. Because of your feedback this will happen within the next 24 hours. Thank you for that!

We made a rather timeless subforum construction. Changing things around based on the forum activity does not support the usability of this, nor of any board and means that a lot of unnecessary work comes in as for moving things around whenever we add a new subforum.
