Ambitious Pop Out

After failing so many times at the ClipShift and the One Handed Popover move, I present to you...

The Clip's One Handed Pop Fail.

KGaborMagic 09-25-2011 09:14 PM

So cool :D

Rokk 09-25-2011 10:42 PM

Eh? You didn't mean to do that or what?

TheMisdirectingHand 09-26-2011 12:15 AM

I meant to now. I accidentally came up with it while failing at the Clip Shift and Aaron Fisher's One Handed Pop Over.

la0o9 09-26-2011 01:04 AM

lol, i see, i also had this move a while back, tho i actually keep the deck on my hand( since there were no tables), but making it fall is quite visual as well.

I'm also working on a pop out production, it's so hard... i call it the Pass-out move, if anyone can guess what the move is about just by the name, congratz.

TheMisdirectingHand 09-26-2011 03:15 AM

Knock-out ;)

la0o9 09-26-2011 06:08 AM

lol, yes, because of how hard it is, it is a knock-out

Fin 09-28-2011 03:50 AM

Utterly awesomely inspiring and beautiful! Now I'm off for a quick cry

TheMisdirectingHand 09-28-2011 04:11 AM

Good cry ol' chap! Good, darn, cry! BRAVOO!

Kieran Oloughlin 09-28-2011 12:00 PM

I thinks its pretty cool, nice way to start an ambitous card routine.

Not that is matters but... dude your handling is bad! Why is this? Not your slegihts, their good but just the general way you handle cards.

la0o9 09-28-2011 10:59 PM

i think he's pretty good handler compared to others who only shake and shake in front of a camera...

TheMisdirectingHand 09-29-2011 12:35 AM

Sloppy isn't necessarily bad, but the cards I am using are pretty bad. They're at the point where the boarders are gray, and the stock gives no resistance to a spring, at all. I guess that is just my style.

TommySteal 09-29-2011 01:01 AM

@ Kieran What's wrong exactly with the card handling in this video?

Mark 09-29-2011 02:08 AM

His overall card handling isn't bad at all. The failing pop-out kind of thingy was rather bad though (hence him calling it a fail). ;)

TommySteal 09-29-2011 03:32 PM

To quote kieran "The general way you handle the cards is bad". He apparently likes the pop=out move.

Mark 09-29-2011 03:48 PM

I know. I just said I think it's the opposite way around. ;)

TheMisdirectingHand 09-30-2011 02:48 AM

Then again, different opinions vary. I frequently use this with no problem, my spectators like it, and I don't think I'll be doing the Pop over or Clipshift anytime soon...

Kieran Oloughlin 09-30-2011 10:41 AM

Yes I like the move but its not something I would put my heart and soul into working on. What I mean by your handling is like the way you square the cards, I used to do it like that but then I practiced being smooth and elgant and a gentle and it looks much better aswell as it squares the cards neat and fast.

Mark 09-30-2011 12:32 PM

Okay, that indeed is a different opinion. I don't see anything wrong with the way of squaring up of the cards. As long as it's kept open and clean looking, it would definitely work.

The pop-out move however, since now I'm confused whether it was a fail or not, actually looks like a move. Leave out the waving and counting, have the spectators hold out both of their hands like a little table, then do it when just saying "Watch" or something like that. At least that's one way to improve the magic in the effect.

Kieran Oloughlin 09-30-2011 01:37 PM

I didnt say there was anything WRONG with the handling I just said it looks bad in my opnion. This is not ment to inslut/or attack David in anway, I just try to do the oppisite of that sought of handling.

Mark 09-30-2011 02:25 PM

Then it's a matter of wording things, because you actually said "Not that is matters but... dude your handling is bad!" which is really more than just an opinion. ;)
But okay, case solved. :)

Kieran Oloughlin 09-30-2011 03:07 PM

Yeah.... I should of worded that better.

OliveroG 01-03-2012 02:59 AM

Almost every single great discovery in science comes from a mistake, happens in magic too.

schugunwinta 01-03-2012 11:21 PM

Amazing. You could also do the move but drop the deck on the spectators hand. :)
